Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Symmra ("Symmra," "we," "us," or "our"), a service operated by Simply Modern Designs LLC, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials (including Google sign-in, if used).

Body and health metrics: Age, sex, height, weight, body composition goals, activity level, and related fitness/nutrition targets you provide during onboarding or later edit.

Progress photos: Photos you voluntarily upload as part of weekly check-ins, used to track visual changes over time.

Workout and nutrition data: Logged exercises, sets, reps, weights, personal records, food diary entries, custom foods and recipes you create.

Coach conversations: Messages you send to and receive from Simmi, our AI coaching feature, and any recommendations generated from your activity.

Payment information: Billing details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card number on our servers.

Usage data: Basic technical information such as device type, browser, and general usage patterns, collected automatically to help us maintain and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Generate personalized workout programs and nutrition targets
  • Provide the AI coaching features (Simmi), including analysis of your logged data and progress photos
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account
  • Track your progress over time and detect patterns (such as training plateaus or weight stalls)
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the Service
  • Communicate with you about your account, including transactional emails (e.g., password resets, receipts)

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

Google Gemini (AI processing): When you use Simmi, your relevant workout, nutrition, and check-in data — including progress photos you submit for AI review — is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate coaching responses. This processing is used to power the feature; Google's own data handling terms apply to this transmission.

Stripe (payment processing): Your billing and payment details are handled directly by Stripe. We receive limited information back (such as subscription status) but do not store your card details.

Supabase (infrastructure): Our application data, including your account information and progress photos, is stored using Supabase's database and storage infrastructure.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Symmra, our users, or others.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not share your health or photo data with advertisers.

4. Data Retention

Progress photos are automatically deleted after 75 days from upload.

Account and activity data (workout history, food logs, coach conversations) is retained for as long as your account is active, so that your progress history remains available to you.

Upon account deletion, we permanently delete your profile, workout history, nutrition logs, progress photos, check-ins, custom recipes/foods, and coach conversation history. Any food items you contributed to the shared community catalog remain in the catalog but are disassociated from your account. We also cancel any active subscriptions as part of account deletion.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You may:

  • Access and edit most of your information directly within the app (Settings/Profile).
  • Delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your personal data as described above.
  • Export your data by contacting us at the email below, if you'd like a copy before deletion.
  • Opt out of marketing communications (if any are sent) via an unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted data transmission, access controls limiting who can view your data, and row-level database security ensuring your data is only accessible to you. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

7. Children's Privacy

Symmra is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app or via email, with an updated "Last updated" date.
